“Raid on Ruddle’s Station” shows Shawnee forces taking 12-year-old Steven Ruddle after raiding the Kentucky settlement with the British in 1780. Steven was adopted by the Shawnee and given the name “Big Fish.” After growing up alongside Tecumseh for 15 years, he returned home to his parents and was later ordained a minister. He maintained close ties with the Shawnee, visiting them often.
Doug Hall is an artist and black powder rifle enthusiast who has lived in hand-built log cabins for over 40 years. He sold his first painting at the age of 8 and is known for his captivating works inspired by Eastern Woodland Indians. Doug has several tile murals installed in public spaces and has won various awards for his artwork. He was honored with the highest award from the Eastern Shawnee tribe when he was blanketed by the Chief. His piece “Tecumseh – The Shooting Star” at the Booth Museum showcases his talent and dedication to his work.
