British Redcoat
16″ × 12″ Original Oil on Canvas
Donated to the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, 2025
Standing quietly in the woodland shadows, a British-allied warrior keeps watch with his long rifle held ready. His red trade coat, face paint, and traditional adornments suggest a time when Native warriors and British forces often stood together along the frontier during a period of shifting alliances and conflict. Alert and composed, he appears to be scouting the forest ahead, listening for movement and reading the signs around him. British Redcoat tells the story of a lone woodland fighter caught in a tense moment of duty, patience, and survival on the early American frontier.
